La alimentaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos precalentados se realiza a trav\u00e9s una serie de c\u00e1maras de reacci\u00f3n.<br \/>\nCada c\u00e1mara de reacci\u00f3n se calienta en el fondo, generalmente por medio de vapor sobrecalentado inyectado en la alimentaci\u00f3n de cada c\u00e1mara por un tubo rociador. El vapor fluye pasando por un condensador barom\u00e9trico: los gases no condensables se eliminan mediante una bomba de vac\u00edo. El residuo que sale del fondo de la \u00faltima c\u00e1mara de reacci\u00f3n se enfr\u00eda. En todas las fases de estos procesos, las medidas de presi\u00f3n y temperatura son fundamentales. Una desventaja de la destilaci\u00f3n por vapor de los \u00e1cidos grasos es la formaci\u00f3n de emulsiones en la \u00faltima etapa de condensaci\u00f3n, donde se emplea rociado de agua. Las sales de calcio y magnesio, normalmente presentes en el rociado de agua, reaccionan con los \u00e1cidos grasos causando saponificaci\u00f3n.<br \/>\nPara recuperar los \u00e1cidos grasos, el
